This image depicts swimming at low tide and seeing the mangrove roots at Capembah.Capembah also known as Myora Springs is a very special place. One of my earliest memories is going there with my mum, grandmother and aunties to swim.

I remember the water rushing from the hill, was cool and that the pool of water was deep, that the midden was full and high, and the mangroves thick and healthy.Capembah is a site of cultural and environmental significance. Where remnants of a large midden exists - evidence of a long connection to that space. Where our families have always gathered. Where freshwater from the aquifer, runs through from the sand hills out to the freshwater.

At low tide, a slow moving freshwater moves to the bayside. It’s possible to walk through – staying on that water pathway out to the bay. At high tide, the warmer saltwater moves in and meets the freshwater.
